Training

Most of my professional career has been about the development of others.

While coaching is my focus nowadays I have a long history of the design and delivery of experiential learning opportunities for all age groups and experiences.

My experience ranges from leading cross company, laboratory-based outreach activities for 11-18 year-olds while I was in the pharmaceutical sector, to education and training as an academic.  There I designed experiential learning sessions to enliven learning about chemistry at undergraduate and Masters level.

Being Director of our Masters in Chemistry placement scheme, involved placing students in laboratory-based research jobs.  I established a pool of over 80 companies across 14 countries, a testament to my ability to influence individuals and organisations.

I also designed and led training in 'soft skills & reflective practice' for undergraduates & Masters students, in readiness for placement.

For many years I had strategic responsibility for the direction of chemistry education at the University of Southampton, in my role as Deputy Head of School (Education).

I have used my considerable experience of experiential training in coaching related areas, to the benefit of my clients with Alpamayo Coaching.
